Casa de Paz depends on donations to keep our doors open, providing hospitality to immigrant families and people released from detention.
Many of the families who stay with us are in desperate financial situations, sometimes with the primary breadwinner incarcerated and facing deportation. Our guests who were released from detention frequently have nowhere to go: many face homelessness or long journeys to reunite with their families. Casa de Paz offers welcoming hospitality, support and kindness to immigrants and their families at this precarious time.
- More than 1,100 guests have stayed at Casa de Paz
- More than 300 volunteers have given of their time and skills
- Hundreds of visits to people who are detained are arranged each year
Offering these services requires $2,100 per month in operating expenses. We have no paid staff--we are all volunteers doing our part to make this happen because we know we would also want to be treated the same way if we were in this situation.
