Since the start of the current administration, Casa has seen a fall in releases. However in the recents months there has been an increase in releases alongside an increase in the number of local individuals being released.For the month of April our volunteers handed out 194 snack bags to families. We welcomed 106 individuals being released from Aurora GEO, with 54 of them coming to Casa.
Among the 54 who came to Casa, there were 20 countries represented: Afghanistan, Chad, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ghana, Honduras, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Palestine, Serbia, Sudan, Trinidad & Tobago, and VenezuelaLast month, we had multiple people being released without ID’s and paperwork.Check out our complete April Welcome Team Monthly Report here.

With $25 or $50 gift cards our guests are able to purchase meals while en route to reunite with their families during their 40-60 hour bus ride. Since guests are turned away at airports a 4 hour flight is now a multi day trip.
Tracfones and unlimited 30 day plan cards allow our guests to stay connected to their families during those multi-day bus rides. Recently most buses have had significant delays or no wifi.
Electrolyte drinks help our guests deal with dehydration they experience coming out of GEO especially now as temperatures rise.
