April Guests

In the midst of a rough month of April, we had the pleasure of warmly welcoming 13 guests from 8 countries to Casa de Paz: El Salvador, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, and Venezuela.

Today, our work is more important than ever. If you haven't already, join our On-Call Drivers Group! We look forward to welcoming our next guests to Casa dePaz with you!

Cartas de Paz Training

We miss you! Consider getting a Cartas refresher training to start writing to our friends in detention again. Not a Cartas de Paz volunteer yet? Today is the time to get involved in our pen-pal writing program. Click on the link above to start on your Cartas de Paz training!

In case you missed it:

Last month, Casa de Paz turned 13 years old! Thank you for all of you who continue to believe in its mission, and welcome to those of you who have recently found us.

Check out the interview with our Executive Director here, and find out what's been happening at Casa de Paz these past few weeks.

Did You Know?

A special thanks to Claudia and Pablo from Watershed School who brought their class for a presentation to Casa de Paz. The students walked to our Casa On Wheels Van and walked back to Casa de Paz - taking the same path that our guests take upon their release from the privatized GEO immigration detention facility in Aurora. Thank you for your continued support!

Lately, we've heard from individuals that while in detention, they were getting less and less food on their plates. In a for-profit institution like GEO, a can of tuna will cost a person $2.96 and $5.34 for a snack bag of mixed nuts with peanuts.

How You Can Support Us Today
Donation Drive: Per TSA, our guests are not able to travel by air anymore and are having to take a bus back to their families. What used to be a 3 hour flight, has now turned into a 24+ hour trip. Consider hosting a Donation Drive so our guests can all leave with money for meals and a tracphone during their long-hours trip back with their families.

Pizza Donation: Email us or text us to coordinate a pizza delivery donation.

Show your support: Buy yourself (or that one incredible friend!) a Casa shirt here

Love coffee? Casa de Paz will earn $3 for every coffee bag sold at Coffee for the Cause, when you select us at checkout!

EVENTS COMING UP
