2025 RECAP

As we turn the page on the calendar, the new year invites a renewed commitment to growth, progress, and positive change.
This year, over 600 people from at least 63 countries were released from the GEO detention center - over 600! In a year filled with turmoil, we are happy to share that witnessing the reunification of so many local families, is a scene we never take for granted.

This past month, sixty-three people were released from GEO, with thirty-two coming to Casa!
Seventeen countries were represented: Canada, Chad, Colombia, Cuba, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Palestine, Peru, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela

Thank you for all your support for 2025!

Did You Hear?!

Last month, we were made aware of a scam involving the use of our name. We condemn these actions. We do not assist with the bond process and will never ask for money for our services. Scams are becoming more common and even harder to identify; we encourage you to visit the resources below:

This past month's Events

We had a great time meeting families at the Adams County Winter Resource Fair! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and shared a smile with our team!

Pictured here is Hector from the Pinnacle Charter High School, who fundraised for Casa de Paz at the Winter Market as part of his Senior Capstone Project. Thank you!

A shout out to DJ Precious Blood, DJ RIPdyingWorld, DK Ciencia for hosting a fundraising concert in support of Casa de Paz, raising over $1,000! Thank you so much!

Please share!

Together with the Colorado Virtual Immigration Consult Clinic (COVICC), Casa de Paz has the ability to offer virtual immigration consultations via COVICC. Consultations are available in English, Spanish, and French. Respond to this newsletter if you have any specific questions!

Fundraising Event

Our Fundraising Event last month was a huge success! With over 100 people in attendance, we enjoyed beautiful music by Las Dahlias, tamales from Maria's Kitchen, and our special guests: YOU! Thank you for making our event one for the books!

Drumroll please. . .

As of January 7th, 285 donors had donated $59,406 to Casa de Paz via our Colorado Gives Day page! WOW! This year has been a rollercoaster, but together, we will continue to prevail! Thank you all so much for helping us reach out 2025 fundraising goal!

With over 600 releases from the immigration detention this year, we have continued to serve detained friends, released friends, and families who have been affected by immigration detention.

Additionally, our volunteers and team continue to visit detained friends, send out care letters and books, deposit commissary and phone funds, all while continuing to advocate for our entire immigrant community.

Your donation and support mean much more than words can express. Thank you.

Welcome Team: Snacks & Love at Geo

Thanks to everyone who has signed up to volunteer in our Welcome Team! For anyone who previously completed the online training and is now interested in signing up Snacks at Geo, please watch this video here. It will answer most (if not all!), of your questions about providing snacks for loved ones being affected by immigration detention here in Aurora.
Shoutout to Arc and Harriet for donating their time in creating this incredible video!

With a new year starting, we'd like to ask for volunteer feedback. If you have a minute, please consider taking our Casa de Paz Volunteer Survey here. This will help us better understand our volunteers and better your experience.
