November Newsletter
Our November Guests
As the air turns crisp and the days grow shorter, November invites us to slow down, reflect, and give thanks. Whether you're looking forward to cozy moments, holiday gatherings, or simply wrapping up the year strong, we’re here with updates.
Here’s what’s new this month…
Forty five people were released from Geo, with twenty four of the them coming to Casa! We had 15 countries being represented among them: Cameroon, China, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, Eritrea, Guatemala, Honduras, Iran, Israel, Kosovo, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, and Venezuela. Yes; we welcomed our first guest this year from Kosovo this past month!
In case you missed it, alongside a few organizations, including the Shut Down Geo Coalition, a report surrounding Geo conditions was released; check it out here.
Outreach Events
Thank you to Westwood for inviting us to table at
Noche de Cultura: Churros y Corridos.
We look forward to seeing you at the next event!
Last month, Casa de Paz was invited to table at Montview's Ministry Fair! While speaking of our resources for our detained friends, we all provided the latest information in our most recent program:
Snacks at Geo!
Panels
This past month, Casa presented to the House and Senate democrats staff. Thanks Arriana for coordinating the presentation!
Community Donations
Thank you Rob & Celeste for your donation of 85 snack bags to hand out to family & friends! You can now sign up to hand out snack bags outside of Geo for those who are visiting loved ones.
For detailed information on snack donations we can accept, check out our Donations Accepted document here.
This month 135 bags were given!
